What I related is what we used to do internally and what we recommended
customers do. There are many variations on the theme, and whatever works
for you and makes you most comfortable is the method you should use.

Our thinking was that the user is already standing there with the machine
open, the CUDA Reset in sight, and the next step in mind. Not a whole lot
of static should build up in the time it takes one to unplug the machine,
move a finger into position to press and hold the button for a few seconds,
return the finger to launch position, and plug the computer back in.

Now, we were (and I am) in an area where static electricity isn't much of a
problem. About twenty miles from the ocean in mildly temperate Northern
California, it usually takes a concerted effort to generate static
electricity here. Dallas' advice seems very prudent for anyone who lives in
a drier climate or who just wants to take every possible precaution.

Hope this clarifies things.
