The paper munchies was a common problem for the PLW NTR printers. It is well documented on the fixyourownprinter site. The repair kit is only around $30. Basically, the pickup rollers wear out and you need to replace them. Not to tough with the right instructions. (Now if you could only get the paper tray back:)
That LaserWriter Select sounds like a pretty good deal. Nothing like getting a good piece of equipment cheap. We have a University here that gives their surplus to a recycler, you get great stuff cheap! I got the LW NTR for free from a friend who ran the place, before he was there I got my Umax S900 for $300 with a G3 upgrade already in place! My webserver is a Quadra 700 500HD/32RAM that I paid $5 for. It even came with a Video Spigot card. -Robyn On Friday, August 16, 2002, at 12:38 AM, Steve Hardy wrote: > The one that munches paper is a Personal LW NTR.
