Bill, make sure that the "Toast FireWire Support" extension is in your Extensions Folder. Other than that, the only thing to try is, freeing up one of the top two slots, & putting the FireWire card there just to test if that helps. Roxio claims that Toast 5.1 should support all FireWire drive's. What version of Toast do you have? > I have a external HD to use as a startup in case my > main goes south. This is odd, but depending on what version of FWBHDT you have, it's rare indeed that that utility would not be able to access a hard drive. If you go to the FWB web site you can download the latest "Device data file updates" just to make sure you're as up to date as your version of HDT can be. Here's the link... http://www.fwb.com/dc/hdt/dev_data.html Also, I'm going to reread about your startup problems from your- "Multiple related? problems"- message, and see if I can think of something to try. I will say though, that the 'wake from sleep' bug is not uncommon. I just can't remember what the specific conflict(s) is. I'll refresh my memory on that, and post later. -Howie -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
