Greetings. Still having a problem with my C500 (144mb RAM, 240mhz 603e, 4gb Maxtor HDD) recognizing the CD-ROM drive under either OS 9, 9.04, or 9.1. If I boot up with a CD in the drive, all is well. If not, the system won't recognize the CD-ROM, or any CD's I put in.
I have downloaded both the 5.3.1 and 5.3.2 version of Apple's Universal CD-ROM Driver from http://www.macdrivermuseum.com/disk.html - however, neither one of them solved my problem. Would one of you C500 owners with the proper CD-ROM driver be so kind as to stuff the driver (it has to be stuffed because I will be transferring the file via floppy from my PC) and e-mail it to me? I would be very grateful. Thanks, Tim. -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
