Well 2 ways really. The Icon in the folder of Cache Control is a control panel which can be kept in the Applications folder. You just double click on it and it opens and gives you all the info and lets you make settings. Also if you boot in Verbose mode Just after you see Welcome to Macintosh you will see configuring L2 cache. In OSX 10.1.5 and older it shows up even without booting into verbose mode. I'm running a XLR8 G3 500mhz. It runs well with motherboard cache disabled which is the default, Spec processing on, Dynamic something on.
