Butting in again...
The install may have just failed, but try moving Cache Control X to the root
level of the hard drive (like the Applications folder). It might be in a
folder whose name contains an illegal Unix character. In which case the
system can't access it to authenticate the Cache Control X installation. I
realize you said it was on your desktop, which should be okay AFAIK, but try
moving it anyhow.
