Hi Paul,
I was referring to the Shareway IP by www.opendoor.com File Sharing
version 9.0. It's the IP file sharing utility that opens the file
sharing control panel to start file sharing and program linking and
allows users and groups to log in or set up accounts to use your
network. In OS 9.2.2, the same File Sharing version 9.0 is used. On
my S900's on the network, I leave file sharing on. On my Mac B&W G3 I
leave file sharing off till I need to file transfer to my S900. File
sharing takes more than 30 minutes to start(-: On earlier versions of
OS 9.1, this slow start up time for file sharing didn't occur leading
me to suspect I may be over looking something hughly important that
might be revealed by an exhaustive search of Mac Help on networking
OS 9.1. In OS 10.2 these problems are gone and networking is easy and
solid. I like network utility that allows you to ping the network and
see connectivity problems right away. That's not a part of networking
in 9.1 AFAIK. I know there is shareware like IPnet Monitor or
something like that which ping a network and graphically show what's
on or off. HTH.
Eric
