Cool!

I can launch the Disk Burner Application and this does prompt the 'Burn CD'
Special Menu to be active. I can create a cd image using Burn CD and copy
files to that image. I can erase that image using the same menu. The
options also allow me to erase & format cd's for either Standard, MP3's and,
yes, 'ITunes' for the "Toast CD Reader at Firewire". In other words, the
Special Menu 'Burn CD' option and all its components are now fully
functional. Once an image has been created, the menu automatically opens
the Application as well. All the software components seem to be talking to
one another as they should.

Here's the BUT: When I tell it to burn, I get the progress bar, and then
unfortunately another alert comes up saying "The burn operation could not be
completed because the device is not supported". (Slight drop in elation)
However I'm still wondering if maybe I don't have an Apple CD Firewire
driver loaded yet, or if it was, did the Toast driver take it over? So I'll
be digging into that some more too. The fact that its seeing the device as
a Toast device makes me wonder if maybe there is a driver extension conflict
or a simple Toast driver takeover. (Thinking out loud, if I removed all
Toast files from that drive and had only Apple CDRW Drivers loaded, might
one of these drivers work for the Sony?) Is there another way?

There sure doesn't seem to be much of a leap now to my being able to use
this 'Burn CD' menu option on the s900 with OS 9.1. I am presently using a
slow Sony Spressa 4X4X12X Firewire CDRW. For the time being, I guess I'm
going to continue to try and find a way to get this drive recognized.
Otherwise, it will probably result in Will's initial theory to me that I
require an Apple cdr, which may be a very viable & desirable option anyhow
since my internal cd/rom is a mere 12X read (as is my superfast 12X Sony
Firewire CDRW). I just wish I had an Apple CDRW to try at this juncture.
Guess I have one more mission. I'm real close to making this work.
