I've been fortunate to have gone from 8.0 through 9.1 practically seamlessly with all peripherals functioning with nary a hiccup. I would be happy if the modem (yes, no DSL), printer and tablet continues to work in 10.2. Then there is the issue of the Nikon (LS-2000) film scanner, which evidently will not be supported in X. (That's not so bad, because the raw scans could be done in 9.1.) If the tests prove otherwise, the S900 will have to operate mostly under 9.1. At this point, my move to X will be a jump from 9.1 directly to 10.2, with zero experience in previous versions of X and any of the 9.2 variants.
