Yes. I have one 8 GB partition with OS X (in the first 8 GB of the
disk, just to be on the save side), one 800 MB partition with a copy
of the install CD-ROM (made with Apple Software Restore) and the rest
for a partition with OS 9.1.

After the the first run of OS X. Actually, the SCSI-devices were only
recognized under 10.1. The USB-card is not recognized, but the
USB-mouse (including right button and wheel) works.

You are probably right. I have not tried my 180 Mhz processor (and I
probably never will), but the difference between the experience with
and without the L2-cache was amazing. However, my first impression
still is that at least my Apus 3000 is quite usable. Some things even
work faster (and far more reliable) under OS X than under OS 9 (e. g.
context menus). Of course, more serious work like video editing is
beyond dreaming (but I do not need this).

Correction: Audio out works (including iTunes).

I have already installed this, but the problem is that the scanner is
not even recognized. With it plugged in, the other SCSI-devices cease
working as well, by the way. I suppose it has to do with not having
terminated the scanner, because this has never been an issue with OS
9, but OS X seems to be more picky. I have connected my Powerbook
5300 to the chain in SCSI disk mode, but this did not proved to be a
solution, probably because these powerbooks cannot provide SCSI
termination. So I am afraid I have to buy a SCSI terminator, except
someone has a better solution.
