My scanner is connected via an Adaptec 2906 SCSI card which is well
supported in OS X, so it may be that there are some issues with certain SCSI
controllers beyond the SCSI cards that Apple willingly supports.

Hopefully your scanner will work, providing it's listed on the VueScan web
site as one of the supported brands. VueScan saved me from having to buy a
USB scanner, I hope it does the same for you.

Keep in mind that if you have a self terminating external device (like a Zip
or a SyQuest drive, for example) you could perhaps put the scanner before
it, and avoid having to track down an actual terminator.
