Hi Tom,

Keep in mind that ATA-100 may refer to the data transfer rate rather than
the capacity of your drive. There was ATA-33, and then ATA-66, and lately
ATA-100 IDE drives. If you have a 100 gb drive you're a lucky fellow, that's
a seriously large drive, and likely a current drive as well. Wanna sell it?

Forget about EIDE as opposed to IDE, it's the same thing. You can use the
drive you've mentioned in your C600. As far as reliability, Western Digital
has had some stinkers mostly in the "Caviar" brand category, but don't let
that discourage you. Every manufacturer has had a drive or two that has been
pegged as a problem unit. Back up regularly and forget about it.

Just pay attention to the pin configuration and your new drive will likely
be fine. Western Digital has a good reference to their drive configurations
online...
