Try the ACARD in slot 1 or 2. This type of card can exhibit odd 
behavior in any other slot. I'm kind of surprised that it worked in 
slot 4 at all. Also, double check the ribbon cable for any sign of 
wear, OSX is a lot more picky about these things than OS9 was. While 
you are in there, make sure that you have the jumpers on the drive set 
right. WD drives have an extra mode, if it is the only drive on a 
cable, you need to put it into single mode. Unlike others, having the 
drive in master mode when it is the only thing on the cable will not 
work correctly.
