Alan- If you've got a good stable system- keep it. You use a computer
to do stuff for you and if it ain't broke don't be fixin' it.
If you do get curious about other OS's you can always get another HD-
even a small one- and use it as a trial platform. 2Gs is enough for OS
X.

As far as your scanner goes- Vuescan should work- and I know you've
been told that before. Nikon botched it's version of Nikon Scan for X
(under 10.2), so I've been using it with my LS-8000 with excellent
results.

I actually found that OS X was easier to configure than 9 ever was. I
am finally to the point where the only thing I need OS 9 for is to
record audio onto my HD. XPF hasn't fixed that. I hope it can and will
be fixed.

Whatever you do don't undervalue a good working System. A lot of us on
this list like to tinker a little too much.

cheers-

-Ford
