If you disassemble the CDROM drive and remove the belt, you can then
take it to a store and try to match the size. The trick is finding a
local store that carries an assortment of belts. Frys has some
belts, which only helps if you have a local Frys, of course.

Studio Sound Electronics has a large assortment of belts for VCRs:
http://www.iglou.com/studiosound/ and they probably have a belt that
will fit your CDROM. The trick would be converting their part
numbers into a size you can interpret. Perhaps you could email them
for help, as I don't know how to do that either. (They also have
nice parts kits for VCR repair, BTW and are rather helpful when your
VCR dies. I resurrected my 8 YO VCR this year with their help.
Sure, I could have spent $60 on a replacement, but this cost me $15,
and I like the form factor and button placement of my old remote.)

Ultimately, the suggestion in the previous post is probably best.
Get a new CD drive. The belt may only cost you $2 plus shipping, but
the effort and headache finding it and installing it is going to be
more than a new drive, most likely. If you have something special
like a 24X SCSI Apple CDROM, then it's more likely to be worth fixing.
