Hi Frank,
Thanks for that Umax adventure story. It's a real testimony to what
being clever with Umax can turn out.
On your system blessing issue, what I see is my 9.1 settings are
reversed. I usually use a copy of my 9.1 system with all favorite
settings and extensions. So I copy that from a CD to one of the
partitions of the freshly wiped HD. Then I make changes in Conflict
Catcher and move files from my startup file to disabled startup items.

Next XPF to install X and Conflict Catcher will revert to the previous
settings Files I moved from my startup folder to disabled startup
items are put back in the startup folder. I've installed X several
times now on 2 S900's and this change is always made.

I haven't seen the difficulty you run into needing a CUDA. However
it's my habit to run Nortons from the CD and look at the condition of
the HD for both 9/10 right after an install so that may be the reason I
haven't seen that issue. Or using a disk tool might solve your problem.
Good luck.
Eric
