This is a long shot Frank, and I won't go into a lengthy explanation right now, but it's worth a try... Zap the PRAM before the startup chime would normally sound. You have to be quick with the vulcan death grip, but it's important that you hold down the PRAM zap keys (Command, Option, P, and R) immediately after choosing restart or power up. There's a short period of time after choosing restart before the normal startup chime sounds, and zapping in that short period clears a unique black screen of death problem related to an E100 enabler and XLR8
software. Since you just got that S900, it may have been a victim of that nasty NVRAM bug. Hope so. -Howie Tried your suggestion with no luck. Very perplexing, can you tell me more about the NVram "Bug" ? I have no system installed and am just trying to get at most a blank disk with a question mark flashing or a boot from Norton utilities disk. I am not using any E100 card or XLR8 software. I do get a sudden flash on the 2 monitors that I have tried. Just to be on the safe side I checked each and every connector and did a complete tear doe of the machine down to the bare case blew out the dust and built back up - No luck Again any suggestion are much appreciated, Frank -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
