I just got in late from working on a project and read this. I went huh??Why would Jeff think I would know anything about this? A few min. later I went duh i've done this but it has been a while. Linux 2000 PPC or maybe the version before it...came with a Linux/UNIX utility that let you open the open firmware and then install LINUX from there. It wasn't as easy to use/ figure out as it should have been. At least for me ;-) But I did get it to work . It was just about that time that BOOT X for Linux came out and was so much easier to use for installing that I forgot about it. I just tried loading my Linux 1999 disk to look for the utility and what do you know. Linux disk will not mount in OSX!!! That is a surprise to me. If you want me to I could look around and find the utility that was used and look through my old notes to see how I got it to work. Look at this page. It sounds like the Yellow Dog Linux people are soon going to be selling a machine that sounds perhaps the same as the one you are beta testing. They will also be selling the motherboard with cpu by it's self. If you look around they have a web page with good pictures of the motherboard and box. Sounds like a nice machine. http://www.terrasoftsolutions.com/news/2002-12-04.shtml It's late and I need to sleep....Will S -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
