In addition to still looking for help on the Entourage question, I was wondering if anybody has ever opened up a Sony Spressa Firewire enclosure which normally comes with the 12-24X CDRW, and replaced this with any other kind of drive?
The reason I am asking is, I recently picked up a Matsushita / Panasonic 4.7 GB DVD/RAM drive, which also reads cd/roms @ 24X. But I am contemplating switching out the cdrw from the Sony, putting that in my s900 in place of my Teac 12X cd/rom. Then put the DVD/RAM into the firewire enclosure. The DVD/RAM is an Atapi Apple Rommed and came out of a G4. I'm only guessing at this point that everything will be compatible, but of course if not, that's what I'd hope to learn here. Of course my option is to just put the DVD/RAM in as a replacement for my 12x cd/rom, assuming I can boot from the cd/rom side of the DVD/RAM drive. Unfortunately there is no booting from the DVD/RAM itself as these are designed only for storage and playing DVD's/cd's. Speaking of playing DVD's, which isn't a crucial issue at this juncture, but does anybody know if I will need some kind of dvd decoder card to play dvd's using the DVD/RAM? If not, I'll just use my ole decoder ring instead. Thanks, Dave -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
