just picked up this thread... I have a similar problem with my
S900/OS9.1/Sonnet G3/400. It will wake up from sleep after it first goes to
sleep, but if it is asleep for a long time it won't wake up. Then no matter
what I do, even a restart won't bring back the video. It has happened with
both an IMS Ultimate Rez card and ATI Mach 64 (in lower slots).

I did NOT try turning the monitor off and back on. It is a Mitsubishi
Diamondtron 17.

The only solution I found was to shutdown, pull out the video card, (reset
the CUDA for good measure); restart with NO video card (zapping PRAM for
good measure); starting up with extensions off; then shut down, re-insert
the video card and voila, back in business. Upper two slots are occupied
with Sonnet Tango and Miles U2W cards.

I've heard reference to "deep sleep". Is this an actual energy state, or
just some misinformation?

Charles
