Hi,snip
This is a simple question. I need to replace the battery in my S900 (the
time and date are not being remembered) and cant find it. Someone told me
it was purple and on the mother board but I dont see it. Can someone tell
me where on the board to look and what the battery looks like?
The battery is in a cage on the MB next to the ram slots. It's a tight squeeze especially if you have big hands so if you take out the processor card you'll have more room to get at the battery. Squeeze the cage sides and the cage top will loosen or you may have to pick at the cage clasps at each end. If you have a hard drive in the bay next to the battery, you may have to slide that out to give you more room. Note which way the battery is. Positive is down if you forget.

2nd question: Has anyone had great results using any particular PCI card tosnip
allow USB or FireWire (or a combo of both) connections? I understand that I
need to upgrade to OS9 for FireWire connection. Is any version of OS9
preferable?
Go to OS 9.1. That's as high as you need to go and it's more stable than it's predecessors. The PCI combo card issue is in the archives down below.

3rd question: Would anyone care to recommend an external drive that they areI have a Western Digital 30 GB external firewire drive that makes me happy but I think WD no longer makes that size. Their smallest external drive is 80 GB for $199USD. HTH.
very happy with?
Well, maybe thats enough questions. Any responses will be greatly
appreciated.
