Most older 6-slot Macs have problems with G4 upgrades, resulting in losing
the 3 lower PCI slots. XLR8 created the MachCarrier SSE cards for these
machines, but, nevertheless, the S900 is NOT affected, due to it's different
PCI slot architecture. Most modern G4 cards (Sonnet, etc) will work
flawlessly in your machine.

Correct. It was a special CPU card, designed "upside down". No other cards
will fit.

No, because the Umax cards were only 604e processor cards, and a single G3
is much faster than two 604s.

See above, but FYI: No, you could mix two cards with different speeds. But
the faster card was operating at the speed of the slower card, far as I
know.
