the front of the machine against your stomach. The push those tabs inwards and
push away from you, in this position you can use your forearms to get some
extra leverage. Once you have it moved a hairline, you can use your palms on
the front side of the panel (near your stomach) to push it farther away. Do
note that the panel only needs to slide back 1 or 2 inches, then it will just
lift off. >>

The problem with the side panel on the s900 case is that there are no "grips"
which can be used to pull the case back as you depress the corner latches - no
place to get a "fingerhold".

>From back in the old days, I still have a "case cracking tool" that was
designed to get Macintosh Plus'es, SE's, etc. apart. With it, you can "spread"
the tightly-closed seam of the case enough to "free it" so that it can be then
easily removed "by hand".

Not sure if there's anywhere that still sells these as a new item. Perhaps
"MacResQ"? Or, Ebay.

If you have an s900, it's worth tracking down one of these and buying it, as
they make opening the case much easier.
