Yes, it does help. Don't depress both latches simultaneously. Handle the latches one at a time. Simply apply the case cracker to the crack at one end (left or right ... your choice**) of the front panel while depressing the corresponding back latch. Then repeat the process at the opposite end of the crack. Presto! Case open. **I start on the right because I always sit on the right in movie theatres and other auditoria.
