Well, I still have my IIci. I've got 128 MB RAM for it and a
Daystar Turbo040/40 upgrade in it, plus a JackHammer, nice video card
and ethernet card. The case is indeed very klutz-safe, though I
might have pinched the skin on a finger once in the latches that hold
the power supply.

The case is about the only nice thing you can say about the original
LC and LC II. Shudder. I could go on and on about the design
deficiencies and dunderheadedness of Apple with those models, but it
doesn't even qualify for the once removed rule on this list.

The LCIII was a pretty nice machine though the max RAM was still too
low. However, if it's anything like the Q605, the max RAM isn't
really 36 MB, it's 68 MB with a 64 MB DIMM and higher if you can fit
a SIMM expander into the case--probably can't. Except for the RAM
limitation though, the LCIII was a nicely designed nicely running
machine. That's what the LC should have been from the beginning.
Apple's the only company I can think of who took big steps backwards
in performance as time marched onwards.
