An ISP I use has an option for spam filtering which I chose because virtually everything that address received was spam. Their service is through Postini and so far its picked up nearly 98% of the doo-doo I was getting bombed with. I get an email from Postini saying suspicious mail has been quarantined so I log on to their site and review what they have filtered. Then I delete what I don't want or select what I want delivered and life is good. What I like about this method is the ability of the user to decide what to keep vs. what to toss. Some ISPs filter (like .Mac) without alerting the user to what is getting tossed and quite likely there is email from legitimate users getting tossed in the bit bucket--that's not helpful. The down side to the quarantine method is having to log in to a website to review the mail which is an extra step plus getting the service to deliver from those addresses I want.
