Did you install 9.2 using Ben's OS9Helper? If not, that would be the easy way, I think. Of course, if 9.2 did boot without problems, you did it that way - still sleeping I am :) Anyway, try to boot OSX in verbose mode and reinstall the extensions and reinstall bootx as well. In verbose mode, note any problems reported. If your machine hangs there (i.e. kernel panic) it could help to use another version of XPF (here at home I have to use 2.2.1).
