Robyn, I checked out the Mach64 card. OWC is now selling it for $17.95
apox an amazing deal for an ATI RAge Pro video card. It is however only
4mb of video and doesn't say anything about being able to add video
memory. If you can live with 4mb of video should be a great card. 4 mb
is enough on an old world machine unless your doing lots of video work
or want to have a lot of windows open at the same time and or use a
really large video monitor. The main difference I notice was for example
full screen Quicktime Video plays much better with 8mb of video then
with 4mb unless you close other windows . A 8mb card would be a better
deal.

Sorry in advance to Radeon 7000 video card owners but IMHO....but any
ATI 128 card works as well in an old World mac and at half the price!
Even works with DVD . The ATI 128 cards also work in all versions of
Mac OS with pretty much no issues which you can't always say about the
Radeon 7000. Now a Radeon Mac Edition is another story...that card
rocks!! Sadly it is no longer sold new and is expensive used.
I paid $49.00 for my ATI 128 orion card and it does everything the
Radeon 7000 does and without worrying about work arounds in some Mac
OS's. Unless you are a gamer the average old world mac users just isn't
going to notice the extra video memory. in fact I was surprised to note
that there is very little noticable difference on my hardware set up
between the ATI rage pro 8mb card and the ATI 128 which has 16 mb of
video other then I can now use Apples DVD player. I am running an Apple
17 in. Display monitor. Sorry I can't be more helpful. later Will S
