I purchased a new, barebones s900 about a year ago, and have greatly enjoyed adding video, IDE, hard drives, CD drive and a burner. I'm anxiously awaiting an XLR8 G4 400 which should here Monday, as well as the Enermax fan that I read about on this list recently.
The only thing keeping me from TOTAL bliss with my s900, is the fact it came without the base for the tower. Am I right in thinking it's necessary for proper ventilation? For the past year, the back 3/4's has been sitting on 2 FMPro manuals, which allows the front 1/4 to sit above the carpeting, and hopefully allows air to come in. Any advice on where I could pick up just the base for an s900? I've watched ebay from time to time, and even if I could find a "cheap" tower to take the base from, shipping is usually $30 or more.
