Hello all -

This isn't specifically SuperMacs-related (even though I have an s900 myself),
but if anyone wants to pick up a SONY Trinitron 17" monitor "on the cheap",
read on.

Best Buy has the SONY HMD-A240R 17" Trinitron monitor for $150, with a $50
rebate, bringing the final cost to $100. The A240R looks to be a unit that was
designed for sale with the SONY "VAIO" line of Windowze computers, but it
should work just fine on the Mac side.

I can remember not that many years ago contemplating paying $999 for a SONY
Trinitron (I didn't). When I finally did spring for a 17" monitor, I paid $450
for a SONY 200GS and thought I was getting a deal <G>. So.... $100 for a 17"
SONY these days is a bargain to grab, even though it seems these days that
everyone is "pushing LCD monitors", no doubt for the higher profit margin therein.

The rebate is in effect until 3/31/03. Not sure how long the sale price at
Best Buy will run for. Also, the local Circuit City has the same item for $250
(before the rebate).

Since -- these days -- we folks still using SuperMacs might be regarded as
living "on the low end", a good deal is worth passing on?
