I have been using my J700 with great pleasure for
years. I am currently running System 9.1 and have
recently added 4 x 128MB of 60ns RAM and a XLR8 MACh
Carrier card with a G4/400 Processor that is running
at 450/225Mhz. Presently virtual memory is off. There
are 2 harddrives and 2 CD drives. The original CD-Rom
Drive:
SCSI Bus ID: 0
SCSI Device ID: 3
SCSI LUN: 0
Vendor: MATSHITA
Product: CD-ROM CR-508
Revision: XS03
and a CD-Burner that I added about 1 year ago:
SCSI Bus ID: 0
SCSI Device ID: 4
SCSI LUN: 0
Vendor: YAMAHA
Product: CRW8824S
Revision: 1.0a

I have modified the Apple CD/DVD Driver with RES-Edit
so it can see non Apple drives and this seems to work
fine. I used to be able to copy CDs by putting the CD
that needs to be copied into the MATSHITA drive and
the blank into YAMAHA Burner. When I try this now I
get a "Could not complete last command because a MacOS
Error occurred. Result code -50" as soon as the
recording process wants to start. This problem may
come from the MATSHITA Drive when the drive is
attempting to read the disc. The Error happens both in
Toast 4.1.3 and 5.1.4.
I have run out of ideas of what to try to get this
back to work. Perhaps somebody has solved this problem
before.

Any help will be greatly appreciated
Stefan
