Not confusing at all! The original Radeon Mac Edition is a much better card then the ATI 7000. It also sold for $229.00 when new and was rarely discounted and still goes for $150 or more on ebay. In fact I've never been able to find for less then $150.00 so gave up on getting one. The ATi 7000 Mac Edition sells for $129.00 and is sometimes discount a little. It also has a second video port and tv out but is a slower card then the original. People screamed for a cheaper card as for sometime the $229.00 card was the only Mac card you could buy new. So they made a cheaper one the 7000 and to my surprise they discontinued the better but more expensive one. I guess people with older machines who wanted a new card just weren't willing to pay that much. I know I wasn't willing to. In fact i've been very happy with my ATI 128 16mb card.
