The 5/OSX version may not support as many scsi scanners as the
4.5/OS9 version which worked with almost all the low end scsi's. It
doesn't appear in the drop down menu if I choose my 2400s either - so I
rather craftily choose a Powerlook 111 as my scanner - MagicScan was
unsurprisingly designed to interface the high end range of Umax's scsi
scanners. But version 4.5 runs very nicely with the 2400s under OS9.
It would be laughable to pay several grand for a scanner if the only
bundled app interface was Vistascan - hehehe.
