     I'm not aware of any extensions that are needed to use MagicScan 
with a suitable scsi Umax scanner - the data which identifies the scanner 
is in the Preferences folder > Umax folder > Modules folder and the data 
gives a good idea of which scanners will work with MagicScan - and there 
are alot....
     The only thing I can remember different about the 610S is the 
operation via a button on the front of the scanner which required a piece 
of desktop software - maybe extension driven - but I can't remember the 
name of it.
