Well I installed the 210 driver package which I think is called "Radeon
210.sit " and it is the older package that I got before the Feb 24th
"upgrade" Works super fast in OS 9.x scrolling is so fast I can't
really read the bookmarks in my browser. I just looked at the ati
extensions in the extensions manager control panel and turned off the
ones which had been installed by OS 9.1 and kept the newer ones and all
is well.
I live in OSX 10.2.4 now days.OSX 10.2.4 has no need for the 210
drivers they will run and give you a worthless control panel but they
are slower then the drivers in 10.2.4 So except for the testing the
last few days I only boot into OS 9.x to save copies of my email in
Eudora about once a week. I have "mail" in OSX set to leave email on
server. Eudora downloads and removes from server in OS 9. I also need
to boot into OS 9 to run utilities like Disk Warrior and Norton for
Speed disk. It isn't currently possible to boot from CD's in OSX on an
old World mac using XPFacto but version 3.0 may well change that.
XPFacto 3.0 is expected to include CD booting and Firewire booting! It
will be a while before this arrives but the alpha version already has
it working. It only works with a few firewire cards at this point which
is holding things up. Also Ryan of XPF is working under deadline at his
real job so too busy to work on it.

All ati and clone video cards that work with our machines use DDR Video
ram. The issue is this ram comes in different speeds like 40,50& 60
usually marked on the chips on the card as -4, -5 ,-6 with the lower
numbers being faster and the -6 chips needing to run at slower mhz
speeds. So we are guessing the different RAM speeds on the Sapphire
32mb card is the reason different ROM flies are needed. We may in the
future be able to tell which ROM file is needed by the RAM chips speed
code on the card. Not really anything to worry about once you have the
card running.
There are some PCI ATI Video cards with SDR ram and these cards will
not flash and run as Mac cards. I've only seen this on ATI cards.
Sapphire cards with SDR ram all seem to be AGP slot cards and not PCI.
So that is why I usually list the full name of the card to help make
sure people get the correct ones. later Will S
