Hi Greg G Yes I am running VPC 5 and had the same problem. What I did was rebooted with my Sys 8.5 disc. But you have to Shut Down. Here are the steps that I did and it works everytime.
1. Put your Operating System 8.5 into your CD Rom Drive. 2. Make your Startup Disc is 8.5 in your cd rom drive 3. close your Startup Disc Screen 4. Choose Shut Down 5. Startup 6. When your Desktop reboots under 8.5 from the cd rom drive. Then make your Startup Disc 9.1. So now your just going back to your hd system. 7. close your Startup Disc Screen 8. Choose Shut Down 9. Startup ( now boot VPC and everything should work fine) You must shut down. if you don't it won't work. Hope this helps Scott -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
