(AND, they knew right up front that I was on a Mac).... I, too, have received good technical support from Linksys on Macintosh connectivity. My Cable company refuses to give any information whatsoever about connecting through a router (they want to sell additional static IP's), and their Mac support is dismal at best. Recently, something changed and I was unable to access my service through the router. I went to Linksys support site, searched on "Comcast", and discovered the intructions for "cloning" a computer's MAC address. This seems to have fixed the problem. Several months ago, I was experiencing slow throughput, and I emailed Linksys tech support regarding firmware updates. I received a lengthy response giving me detailed instructions on downloading the firmware as well as where to find Mac-supported TFTP utilities for uploading the firmware to the router. So while Linksys officially "do not support" the Mac platform, their support of the Mac platform is pretty good. But you may have to dig a little.
