Do you have the SCSI drive that came in the machine?  Did it boot?  Is the 
new drive really new and unformatted or is it a pre-owned one that you're 
expecting to already contain an installed OS?

You probably need a different driver for the CD drive.  Answer the questions 
above and then some help on both issues can proceed.

(Haven't heard anything about the FAQ recently, or I missed it.)
