Well, I've made the foray into X, but I have a couple of key issues that are holding me back. XpostFacto works like a charm booting back & forth between 9 & X, but since digital imaging is core to my business, the following are all critical functions. S900, Crescendo G3/400/1MB, 1040MB RAM.
1) My FireWire (external Philips IDE PCRW804) CD-RW drive doesn't work with any of the apps I've tried in 10.2. I can read CD's, but not write them. 1a) Toast 5.2 times-out with an error "The Drive reported an error: Sense Key=UNIT ATTENTION, Sense Code=0x29, POWERON, RESET, OR BUS DEVICE RESET OCCURRED". 1b) Finder reports it as unsupport when I insert a blank CDR 1c) Apple System Profiler lists it as "Disk Burning Not supported". I checked the Philips site to be sure I have latest firmware. 2) My Miles U2W card will work in either OS9 or OSX with different firmware versions, but with the latest firmware the drive doesn't show up in 9. A friend has a Quicksilver with the same Miles card, his is recognized in both 9 and X with the latest firmware. I don't want to keep flashing the firmware every time I boot back & forth between 9 & X (there's a limit, isn't there?) Anyway, thanks for the help getting me up to X.
