I just put Jag-wire on a Sawtooth G4 I just bought. Everything went smooth but I'd like to know how to print to a Personal Laserwriter 300--a non Appletalk printer but shared by my trusty C600. Since the printer is shared and seen by other Macs in OS 9, I figured X would pick it up with Appletalk turned on. I figure CUPS might help but I'm not familiar with how to work with CUPS so if someone would walk me through, I'd appreciate it.

Hi Pax,

Sounds like you have the printer in a network, where it is "seen" by the C600 and other Macs. Is that right? Is it hooked up via Ethernet or directly to one of the machines and shared via Printer Sharing?

Not sure what to suggest. I did not see the Personal Laserwriter 300 in the selectables in my machine's print center list. What kinds of connections does the LaserWriter 300 have? If it has a parallel port, you might be able to connect it to the Sawtooth with a parallel to USB cable, and use OSX's printer sharing to make it available to the others on the network.

Grasping at straws here... maybe someone else will have other suggestions.

Nancy
