Everything I've done seems to indicate that the procedure on the PC
side went OK but that the "208" Updater I downloaded was not happy with
what it found, and I'm not surprised.

When using the Mac flasher a small window opens and it shows a progress bar while the install is happening. You get the same window when it isn't working correctly and unless you know about needing to see the progress bar may well think it installed. I don't know why but I needed to try perhaps 3 times before it worked. I also needed to restart after a failed attempt.
If you are able to find a pc and have a dos boot floppy which you can add the needed flasher programs to you can do the whole thing one step on the PC. IF not you can try the Mac flasher which I will send to your above address. So if that doesn't work I can send you the newer package for installing the Mac Rom on the PC one step no Mac flashing needed. But as I said will likely only work if you can boot from a floppy into Dos. Best of luck. Will S
