10.2 can be a big hardware hurdle ($$$) but once you're there you are
rewarded with an ever-wider assortment of OS X-only freeware and shareware
that will never make it backwards to OS 9. Safari is one example, but
there are many others as well. Think of it as your payoff for having to
replace your old apps.
