Finally, I have a Mylex DAC960 Raid controller I would like to
use, but I have a feeling like it probably is not going to happen.
Does anyone know if it possible to use one with PPC?

I think that that controller is used in the ANS (Apple Network Server) whose motherboard has a similar architecture to the S900, but which has different firmware (ROM). That may mean that it has Open Firmware code on the card, so it might work. But the ANS doesn't run MacOS; it runs AIX which is an IBM version of Unix, so there may still be software components missing and unavailable for using it under MacOS.

IIRC, that card is only Fast & Wide, not UltraWide nor U2W, so it wouldn't really be much of a price even if you could get it to work. Of course, I may be confusing the card you mention with an earlier model.

You may wish to visit: <http://www.ans.homeunix.net>. It's new and I haven't visited it yet, but it might have some info.
