Hi.
I am having problems with my S900. It will not even begin to boot up. I removed the battery, unplugged the power cord and let it sit overnight but still no go. It just shut down on me the other day and there it sits. I switched power cords, reseated all the cards and nothing. No chime , no light on the front, no sounds of any kind. Is it possible that the switch or a wire to the switch could have come loose? I don't know what else to try so any suggestions would be appreciated.
It's possible that the three wire connector from the power supply to the motherboard has come loose. Check that. If that is properly connected, then most likely you have a bad power supply. It's the power supply or the motherboard. The switch won't matter, because even if that were bad, you'd still be able to power on from the keyboard. The motherboard is unlikely, because in the vast majority of bad motherboard instances, the machine will still power on with a bad motherboard and the drives will spin up. The machine simply won't make the chime at power on, nor boot with a bad motherboard.
So, that leaves the power supply as the most likely culprit. I think someone on the list said that Small Dog still has replacements available.
