I've wondered about this for some time now. How is it possible for a German company (newsell.de) to market "new" Mac clone systems? These include modified versions of several European counterparts of our UMAX systems (Pulsar, Apus, Aegis). I've seen these described consistently as being new. Newsell. I'm pretty sure they come without an OS but surely there are still some proprietary Apple components which should require licensing? So does Apple still license a Mac clone in Europe? Or are these components simply excess UMAX stock? Several components have a UMAX logo so they're not even re-branded. Is Newsell owned by UMAX Japan?
I know at least one list member had an extremely negative experience with this company, while some others had no complaints. Thanks especially for any facts you might be aware of. -Bruce -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
