I'll throw my 2 cents in. 80 meg may be enough memory for the use you describe. As noted the CD trouble is most likely software. What interface do the hard drives use? I am not familiar with the S900 but the ati buss on c500/600 only support one drive. It could be that it is
not being recognized for that reason. As for Mac-unfriendly husband, if you have a son old enough to utilize a computer you have surely learned when to ignore a spouse.
