Hi One update to these queries: I have solved the USB card problem in part, after reading the Belkin support page again and ignoring some of the advice about their card requirements. They say that with OS9 and above all the software needed is included with the OS itself but if running OS8.6 you will have to download Apples own USB software v1.4.1. Well I downloaded and installed it anyway and BINGO, lit up like a christmas tree! So you can't always believe what you're told. Obviously the version of OS9.1 I've got didn't include these bits and bobs. I'm still not sure why it won't work in bottom slots, although this will only be a problem now if I want to fill the top slot with something else I suppose.
