I did some more homework... Turns out there are actually two versions of the PDC20268, the PDC20268 and the PDC20268R. They have different PCI device ID's, and the PDC20268R has 64KB of ROM, the same size as Sonnet's (FirmTek's) Tempo ATA100 firmware. Anyway, the PDC20268R can be found on the Promise FastTrak 100 TX2 RAID controller. In other words, I'm SOL for flashing my Ultra 100 TX2, which only has 16KB of ROM.

Cant you just replace the smaller ROM with a larger one ?
I think he wrote that the storage is on the chip in an earlier posting, but I'm not sure. That's also a little confusing as it makes it appear that there are three versions of the PDC20268.
BTW, Drew, where are you getting the information on the Promise chips? Are the datasheets available somewhere?
