I tried to use the information from the July issue of MacAddict to
make a "super vcd". I thought it would be cool to transfer my home
movies from 8mm tape. I installed Mediapipe, MissingMpegTools, and the
other stuff they said I needed on my S900. It has a G4 450 with 384
megs of ram. I used the pci firewire card to import the video into
iMovie 3. Cropped and cleaned it up a little, and followed the
instructions to export the video to quicktime. So far so good. I got a
non-compressed quicktime file. Then the instructions said to use
MissingMpegTools to compress it into an MPEG 2 file. I followed the
directions, word for word. At this point "gobs of gibberish" are
supposed to run across my screen while the movie is compressed. It runs
some lines across the screen quickly starting with Last login... then
some stuff about mediapipe and the movie that I'm working on. Then it
says "Unmatched '. and quits working.
Do any of you know anything about using MissingMpegTools to make a
"super vcd"? If it would help, I can type in all the lines of code that
were in the box when it quit.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks- Mike
