I have a J700 with a XLR8 G3 ZIF upgrade installed. The machine has worked fine on OS 9 for quite a while. Recently it has developed problems booting, with a periodic bomb and error message.
This is typical for the combination of OS 9, G3 upgrade and old memory.
First upgrade to 9.1 Second pull all memory that is slower than 60ns or pull all the old memory and add all new 128 FPM 60ns 4K refresh from one vender at one time.
